Pig Racing – A Fascinating Tradition from Russia and Vietnam

Pig racing is not a new concept in many countries. In Russia, it has been a traditional sport since the 17th century. Every year on March 20th, Russians celebrate pig racing festivals featuring various competitions such as running, swimming, and even soccer. The Pig Sports Federation even organizes an Olympic Games for pigs!

In Vietnam, pig racing originated from the Raglai ethnic community’s traditions. During festive occasions, families select their healthiest pigs to compete. The winning pig would later be used for offerings to the deities and shared with the whole village. Winning families were rewarded and believed to receive blessings for a prosperous year ahead.

Daily Pig Racing Shows at My Khanh Ecotourism Village

At My Khanh Ecotourism Village, you don’t need to wait for special holidays to enjoy this entertaining race. Visitors can experience daily pig races held at fixed times: 9:45 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. During public holidays, there is an additional race at 3:45 PM.

Interactive Guessing Game and Prizes

Before the exciting race of five competing pigs begins, visitors can join a fun prediction game by guessing which pig will reach the finish line first. Simply choose a number between 1 and 5 to place your prediction.Guests can also visit the starting line to observe the pigs’ preparation — checking their hair, tails, and legs before the race starts.
If your prediction is correct, you’ll win a special gift from the organizers.
